Yesterday, Tuesday, June 26, FLINT, MI-native Actor TERRY CREWS testified before the U.S. SENATE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE on behalf the SEXUAL ASSAULT SURVIVOR'S BILL Of RIGHTS!!!

Last year, the former NFL linebacker took to Twitter to recount his sexual assault at the hands of a powerful Hollywood executive, and; to shine a light on the ME TOO movement.

CREWS recognized himself as a survivor of a sexual assault and the backlash thrust upon survivors which then often has them to feel re-victimized  after publicly deciding to come forth with their own accounts of victimization.

He went on to recall the two-year-old attack during which a successful Hollywood agent grabbed him by the genitals.

He stated that the incident lasted a couple of minutes, and; added that as his perpetrator held his genitals, the aggressor emphatically stated that "he held the power"

The SOURCE Magazine  reports TERRY CREWS stated;
“I am honored to use my platform and story to help create additional civil rights protections for survivors across the nation under the Sexual Assault Survivors Bills Rights."

On the SEXUAL ASSAULT SURVIVOR'S BILL Of RIGHTS:
 “a critical bill that must be enacted in all fifty states. This bill gives survivors the right to a fully government subsidized rape kit to alleviate the financial burden of seeking justice. It gives survivors the right to receive information, including access to police reports, rape kit results, and access to sexual assault counselors. And by requiring that rape kits and forensic DNA evidence be retained for the statue of limitations, this bill gives survivors the right to have time to distance themselves from the immediate trauma before making the difficult decision to report the assault to law enforcement.”
AMANDA NGUYEN is the founder of RISE NOW  and the author of the SEXUAL ASSAULT SURVIVOR'S BILL Of RIGHTS legislation which is dedicated to protecting the civil rights of sexual assault and rape survivors.

Last week, AMANDA NGUYEN was nominated for the NOBEL PEACE PRIZE.
