KEVIN DURANT On 2018 WORLD FAME 100 For ESPN MAG!!!

Defending NBA World Champion GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS Forward #35 KEVIN DURANT occupies the #7 spot and is one of 4 cover stories for  the 2018 WORLD FAME 100 ISSUE of ESPN The MAGAZINE!!!

Here are a few interview interludes from KEVIN DURANT'S GROWING EMPIRE:

ESPN: How much smarter of a businessman are you than you were, say, two years ago?
DURANT: I have mentors like Ron Conway [early-stage Google and PayPal investor] and Ben Horowitz [co-founder of Silicon Valley venture capital fund Andreessen Horowitz] and good friendships with guys like Chris Lyons [chief of staff for Andreessen Horowitz]. I mean, you just go to dinner with these guys, hang out with them. You start to meet these types of people at games. It's a little easier being here than saying, "Let's meet up when I come in from Oklahoma."

How do you best learn business?
You have to remove the ego of it and realize that you don't know it all. I want to learn more about this life and this business and this world. So I've got to ask questions, and I've got to have an open mind to it all. Your brain kind of functions a little different as you get older

I know you have a lot of investments. I know some are structured differently from others. How does that work?
Yes. The only thing we aren't doing is endorsement deals. There's nothing wrong with them, but time is the most important thing to me. And when you endorse a product, a lot of your time is taken away.

You've said you'd like to own an NBA team.
I wish I had the money. It's crazy. Obviously, the financial part is definitely going to be the hardest part. I've been part of two great organizations. I know the game inside and out and I know the players. And I feel like these NBA franchises just change lives. They change cities. I would love to do that. All the aspects of owning a team, I would love to be involved in -- from the financial and marketing side to the team-building to the camaraderie to the coaching.

That's interesting, because I feel like people say you're fake -- when you feel you're being real.
Fake is what runs the world right now. Narratives are what matter. Perception is what matters. So when you've got the majority of the world worrying about perception and what they look like, then the people who don't care about that stuff seem fake to them.

#BLACKWOMANMAGIC - YARA SHAHIDI On HARPER'S BAZAAR: ARABIA!!!

Image result for yara shahidi harper's bazaar

18-year-old ABC sitcoms BLACK-ish and GROWN-ish star YARA SHAHIDI is the June2018 covers story for HARPER'S BAZAAR: ARABIA!!!

Here are some interview interludes:

On her IRANIAN-AFRICAN AMERICAN heritage:

“Being multicultural, you can’t help but be interested and connected to the world around you. My family is from all over the world, so how can you not care for people around the world too? My baba was born in Iran and I come from a beautiful matriarchy on both sides of my family, which I adore. My Iranian relatives have reaffirmed the idea that the sky is the limit – but in fact, my cousin proved that the sky isn’t even the limit because she went to space!”

ANOUSHEH ANSARI the first IRANIAN AMERICAN and first FEMALE PRIVATE SPACE EXPLORER is her cousin.

“I hit the cultural jackpot in terms of food, but what’s fascinating is that as different as both sides may seem, they’re really similar. How we operate, our moral code, who we are in general, being close to family, respect... It’s really universal in a way that blurs both sides. I don’t see much of a ‘this is my black side and this is my Iranian side’, because I come from a family of socially-engaged humans, and it’s hard to identify because of how similar both sides are. But I have to say, I was at the Met Gala recently and I saw a pomegranate and I proceeded to cut it open and serve pomegranate to people at my table. That’s pretty Iranian,”

On growing up on a strong Iranian community in MINNESOTA and the culture shock of moving to CALIFORNIA:

“Everyone in my community in Minnesota who spoke Farsi, I was related to, so when I moved to California I thought the same applied and thought I had so many aunts because I didn’t realise that other people knew Farsi outside of my family. But then I realised it didn’t matter – when you meet someone from Iran, or someone who has visited Iran, or who has ties to Iran, there’s a sense of belonging. Whether you’re walking down Fairfax in LA... There’s a strong sense of community wherever I go.”

On as she approaches enrolling at HARVARD in the coming fall, how she has developed her philosophy on learning and education:

Education is crucial because I understand the privilege I’ve had in how particular education has been to me. My realm of possibility seems so much larger. In the broader sense of the word, this last year has been so much about learning and growing, so I’ve been a student of many teachers this year, especially my parents. I’ve been receptive to learning and receptive to the world around me. Also entering my adulthood has meant there have been moments that I’ve had to learn from and continue exploring – it’s required me to learn new skills.”

On how she approaches to entertainment industry:

“I think you have to approach the industry in the same way you would with anything, with a support network. Don’t go at it by yourself, there’s a lot to take in, you do fall prey,” she says. “The idea that you’re supposed to figure out the best move for you is overwhelming. You need to gain guidance and have people that are there for you. I feel like Hollywood is a paradox because it thrives on authenticity but then you’re being paid not be yourself.

On how she quantifies her own feminist beliefs:

“A belief in equity and equality, for both genders, and about getting rid of the hierarchy. I do classify myself as a feminist but in that same conversation we realise that women’s liberation looks different in different women. So it’s about being inclusive. It’s not saying ‘this is what a liberated woman looks like’,
it’s about a conversation that each woman chooses for themselves.I can only speak for myself, but I think it really goes back to that idea of being in a community with one another. Being able to support, because we have to be ourselves and represent ourselves and support one another.
It’s about globalism and expanding our view of what community is and realising how universal our experiences are and embracing those aspects of ourselves that help us realise how similar we are to people both in our city and an ocean away.”

THIS was the designated meeting location.

KAFENIO

3387 MAIN STREET
COLLEGE PARK, GA 30337

MONDAY - FRIDAY: 7:30 AM - 9:00 PM EST
SATURDAY: 8 AM - 9 PM
SUNDAY: 8 AM - 3 PM

KAFENIO: ALL DAY GREEK CAFE specializes in Greek-Mediterranean Cuisine and is conveniently located on Main Street about halfway between the College Park-East Point border and Downtown College Park.

We arrived at about 10:45 AM for an 11:00 meeting and the place was already buzzing with the late breakfast-early lunch crowd.

KAFENIO MENU features Small Plates, Sandwiches, Salads, Wraps, Pastries, and; Ya Boy was especially pleased to see that breakfast is ALWAYS available.

CCG decided to go with their ATLANTA OMELET (photo below), which consists of spinach, tomato, onion, and, ell pepper. What's an omelette without cheese??? Feta is the house specialty, so, decided to add a bit of feta cheese.

ALL of their omelettes are made with 3 eggs.

The ATLANTA OMELET come with Hashed Brown Potatoes, Biscuit or Pita, and an Orange Slice.

NICE!!!

KAFENIO is well-lit, spacious, and, has an open kitchen so you can actually see them cooking your food, and; you have a feeling of security knowing that your meal is freshly-cooked using fresh ingredients.

Atalanta Omelet was cooked just right so that you could taste the freshness of all the individual ingredients. The Hashed Brown Potatoes were done nice and crispy-tender. The Pita was warm, and the Orange was cool and sweet.

2018 TOP 6 ELECTRIC CARS!!!

Image result for 2018 tesla model 3

A decade ago, the idea of driving, much less owning a completely electric would to most have seemed an inconceivable notion!!!

Buckle up, folks. These babies are here to stay.

Courtesy of the really great folks over at DIGITALTRENDS, here are the DIGITAL TRENDS - 2018 TOP 6 ELECTRIC CARS That YOU Can BUY:

1. 2018 TESLA MODEL 3 (photo above) - BEST ELECTRIC VEHICLE AVAILABLE

Modestly stylish on the outside, luxurious on the inside, surprisingly fun to drive, and boasting the most available range (310 miles with the long-range battery) of any electric vehicle costing less than $40,000, the Tesla Model 3checks all the right boxes. But that’s just the beginning. Where the Model 3 truly impresses is its innovative convenience and safety features (including the industry’s best semiautonomous driving aids) and future-proofed technology.

2. 2018 CHEVROLET BOLT EV - BEST LONG RANGE EV ALTERNATIVE

n 2018, we finally have an electric car for the everyman — the Chevy Bolt EV. Boasting a range of up to 238 miles and a cost under $30,000 after tax credits are factored in, the crossover-esque Bolt is reshaping the world of EVs by making them accessible to the masses. Consider the glass ceiling broken. Practicality and affordability are just two elements of a good car though, but thankfully, the Bolt has much more up its sleeve. While we prefer the Model 3, if you won’t be able to your hands on a Model 3 for a while (and need an electric commuter ASAP), the Bolt is a fantastic alternative.

3. 2018 NISSAN LEAF SL - BEST AFFORDABLE EV

Not as wild-looking as its predecessor, the new Leaf offers 150 miles of range thanks to a 40kWh battery pack that feeds a 147-hp electric motor. It still doesn’t qualify for the coveted “long-range” label but it’s a lot more usable than its predecessor. If that’s not enough, be patient — we hear Nissan will launch a version with more range in the coming months.

4. BMW i3 - BEST LUXURY ELECTRIC CAR

The i3 is one of the most energy-efficient cars currently sold in the U.S., with an EPA-rated 118 MPGe combined for the 2017 model, which also has up to 114 miles of range. It’s quiet, smooth, and luxury car cozy, but with a handling prowess absent from most battery-powered cars currently on the market. That’s because the car’s carbon fiber construction keeps its weight under 3,000 pounds, and the steering remains quick enough to keeps things lively behind the wheel.

5. TESLA MODEL S P100D - BEST PERFORMANCE ELECTRIC CAR

If you can swing the Porsche-like base price and you’re looking for something fast, comfy, and emissions-free, the range-topping Model S P100D is right up your alley. With its 100kWh battery, the P100D boasts a 0 to 60 time of just 2.5 seconds, making it one of the quickest production cars on the planet. The big battery gives the sedan an impressive 315 miles of range as well, so you’ll have plenty of juice to test the Model S’ incredible acceleration.

6. 2018 KIA SOUL EV - BEST CROSSOVER/SUV

The Soul EV is comfortable, usable, spacious, and actually quite entertaining with 210 lb-ft of electric torque on hand. Its 93-mile range is unquestionably on the low-side. If that number is giving you a certain type of anxiety, remember that most Americans drive less than 40 miles per day. In addition, a 50kW DC connection can charge the EV’s battery to 80 percent in less than 35 minutes.

HOW DIGITAL TRENDS TESTS CARS:

The Digital Trends automotive team tests vehicles through a comprehensive scrutinizing process. We examine the qualities of the exterior and interior and judge them based on our expertise and experience in the context of the vehicle’s category and price range. Entertainment technology is thoroughly tested as well as most safety features that can be tested in controlled environments.
Test drivers spend extensive time behind the wheel of the vehicles, conducting real-world testing, driving them on highways, back roads, as well as off-road and race tracks when applicable. When we weren’t able to get behind the wheel ourselves, we leaned on our experiences with each automaker and compared vehicles on a statistical basis, using metrics like cost, range, performance, and available features to make our decision.

President BARACK OBAMA and VALERIE JARRETT

After 20 years, ABC decided to reboot its popular sitcom ROSEANNE, that starred Comedian-Actress ROSEANNE BARR and JOHN GOODMAN as Mr. and Mrs. DAN and ROSEANNE CONNER!!!

Following a successful debut season in 2018, ABC earlier today announced that it has decided to pull the plug on Season 2.

CNN reports that early Tuesday morning ROSEANNE star ROSEANNE BARR used her Twitter account to go on a rampage against CHELSEA CLINTON, GEORGE SOROS, and; former President BARACK OBAMA Senior Advisor VALERIE JARRETT, likening her to an ape.

ROSEANNE BARR tweeted;
"muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby - vj"
TMZ reports that after learning of the tweet, co-star WANDA SYKES tweeted that she was quitting the show.

WANDA SYKES tweeted;
"I will not be returning to @RoseanneOnABC."

Initially; upon being made aware of the remark, ABC went silent for several hours, and; ROSEANNE later attempted to backpedal and apologize for her aggressively egregious behavior.

In as statement, ABC ENTERTAINMENT President CHANNING DUNGEY said;
"Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant, and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show."
DISNEY is the parent company of ABC. ROBERT IGER is CEO of DISNEY.

ROBERT IGER tweeted;
"There was only one thing to do here, and, that was the right thing."
This is NOT the  FIRST time that Roseanne Barr has used social media to compare  a BLACK WOMAN to an APE.

In 2013, ROSEANNE BARR sent a RACIST TWEET About OBAMA Cabinet Mber SUSAN RICE.

ROSEANNE tweeted;
"susan rice is a man with big swinging ape balls."
