CAMBRIDGE RINDGE And LATIN SCHOOL (CRLS) boasts being the high school alma mater of NAISMITH Hall of Famer PATRICK EWING and NCAA Champion RUMMEL ROBINSON, and; is currently the high school home of another up-and-comer!!!
CRLS FALCONS Sophomore Point Guard BEN PIMLOTT is the youngest of three children adopted by his mother from a Chinese orphanage. He was born without a fully-formed right arm, yet; he is a starter on the Junior Varsity Basketball Team.
During one particular freshman game, BEN scored 32 points which ended eight three-pointers.
SLAM Magazine reports Freshman Coach GEORGE RODRIGUEZ said;
“The other coach looked at me like, How’s he doing it? And I’m just thinking, How are you leaving him open?
“I don’t see anyone in the city who worked as hard as Ben—you have to kick Ben out the gym. He has developed an amazing in-and-out dribble and his first step is explosive.”BEN PIMLOTT said;
“A lot of times, you could catch me and my sister playing basketball at the parks or local youth centers. I guess you could say it made me who I am.”
"When I play pick-up, some people from the jump don’t play me hard, but I don’t think they understand I can play at the same level as them.”BOSTON GLOBE Newspaper did a feature article on BEN to which BROOKLYN NETS Point Guard JEREMY LIN tweeted;
“Best news story I’ve seen in a while!!! So many inspirational elements: Chinese, orphan, physical disability, racial prejudice, etc. Rooting for you Ben!! Keep killin on the court!”
BEN has the last word on his confidence and abilities;
“If you doubt that I can play with one hand, I say…play me.”
