ESPN reports the AFFL has been able to garner former athletes from different sports such as Michael Vick, Chad Johnson, Nate Robinson, and Carlos Boozer,.
The format is a 128-team single elimination tournament with the championship game being the pro team vs the amateur team. The winning team will receive $1 million. Games will consist of two 30-minute halves, seven on seven, and a 100-yard field.
The top amateur teams that get past the single elimination games will then face teams that consist of former professional athletes. The league is still accepting applications for the amateur teams.
