I LOVE 2 EAT #148: HAROLD'S CHICKEN & ICE BAR!!!



After picking up and dropping off Niecy on Tuesday, March 21, Yours Truly CCG went in search of an early dinner.

HAROLD'S CHICKEN & ICE BAR is the ATLANTA franchise of the historic HAROLD'S CHICKEN SHACK that was founded in CHICAGO, IL, by the late Restauranteur HAROLD PIERCE. They are on Edgewood Avenue in the SWEET AUBURN DISTRICT of OLD FOURTH WARD ATLANTA and are conveniently located near EBENEZER BAPTIST CHURCH, The MARTIN LUTHER KING Jr. CENTER, MARTIN LUTHER KING Jr. HISTORIC SITE, GEORGIA STATE UNIVERSITYGRADY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL, and; so Much MORE.

The HAROLD'S CHICKEN & ICE BAR MENU is built upon the foundation Fried Chicken, Fried Fish, Signature Sides, and Bold Sauces.

CCG decided to go with the CATFISH & CHICKEN (Dark Meat) COMBO DINNER (photo below), which was 1 Catfish Fillet, 2 Pieces of Dark Meat Chicken (1 leg, 1 thigh), French Fries, Cole Slaw, 1 cup each of Ketchup and Buffalo Sauce. Sweet Tea was the beverage of choice. An additional purchase of the same meal was made to bring home for Sis.

The catfish was a reasonably-sized well-seasoned fillet that was deep fried to the mouth-watering point of having crispy deep golden brown exterior skin with fork-tender flaky interior meat.

The chicken was also well-seasoned and well-fried, but; seemed to have different seasoning mixture.

This gave CCG the rare opportunity to experience two completely different sensations of taste!!!

The fries were Crinkle Cut, and cooked to crispy-outside, tender-inside, smoke-releasing perfection, and; their mixture of cole slaw ingredients was absolutely on point.

HAROLD'S makes sure that you will NOT leave their establishment and still feel hungry. THAT meal was VERY filling.

Sis concurred with Ya Boy on her evaluation of her Harold's TAKE-OUT experience. Due to the generosity of portion, she ate about half for dinner. The next day, she took the other half to work to have for her lunch.

Sis said that her food tasted even better on the second day.

GOOD FOOD, GOOD LOCATION, GOOD ATMOSPHERE, GOOD SERVICE, GOOD TIMES!!!
