BFF Dynamic Duo CYNTHIA DECKER and MOLLY HOPKINS are the co-owners of KENNESAW, GA lingerie boutique LIVI RAE LINGERIE, and; the one-time hosts of LIFETIME Network RealiTV series, DOUBLE DIVAS!!!
Their current ad campaign boldly and truthfully states, REAL BRAS For REAL WOMEN With REAL STORIES. To further promote their campaign and cause, there is the accompanying hashtag, #REALBRASForREALWOMENWithREALSTORIES.
However; the DOUBLE DIVAS are currently engaged in one of the biggest battles of their professional lives.
They state that they are being victimized by BODY SHAMING, and the landlords of their current location are the perpetrators of this offense.
LIVI RAE LINGERIE has been in business at the same location for seven years. They service women of all types. They provide bras, panties, and ALL manners of lingerie attire to accommodate the Hard-to-Fit, Disabled Women, Mastectomy Survivors, and women of ALL Shapes and Sizes.
Their motto is, NO BUST TOO BIG Or TOO SMALL, WE FIT 'em ALL.
With their new campaign, they put out a new window display with models attired in bras and panties, i.e.; the lingerie store put up a new window display with models wearing LINGERIE.
What was the difference between the old and new display???
The old display featured professional models of a more slender variety, while new display featured models of a variety of shapes and sizes, including a disabled model in her wheelchair.
CYNTIA DECKER said;
"When I look at this ad campaign on our windows, I see me, I see someone I can relate to."MOLLY HOPKINS said;
"We did this campaign to promote body positivity and that when you come in here it's a judgment-free zone."LIVI RAE Model CHRISTY FOSTER said;
"It took a lot, and I'm sure it took a lot for every single girl up there to overcome their fears and feel confident." The request to take down the ads was "kind of a kick in the face, a slap in the face. It's very hurtful."LIVI RAE Brand Ambassador NICKEE LEE said;
“OK, so it’s inappropriate. Why? Is it because I’m disabled? Is it because I’m curvy, or is it because I’m black? Which one is it? Tread lightly, because all of those reasons are inappropriate.”Property Manager WESTWOOD FINANCIAL stated that all window advertising must have property management approval ahead of being installed, and; they have the final discretion of what is determined to be in POOR TASTE.
Decker and Hopkins both declare that in seven years of operation at this location, they have not ever had to have approval forestalling their window ads.
MOLLY HOPKINS concluded;
"In the seven years that we've been in this location we've never had to have approval for any ad we put up. It's Kennesaw, and it's Georgia, and it's real, and it's women and it's us."
Because of the Body Shaming, they have a new hashtag - #NOSHAMELIVIRAE.-CCG
