I LOVE 2 EAT #128: NEW ORLEANS HAMBURGER & SEAFOOD CO.!!!

Yours Truly CCG offers his most sincere apologies for being offline for such a long duration, but; Ya Boy had to make a very necessary trip home to NEW ORLEANS to check on Dad and Mau-Mau!!!

By way of AMTRAK, Ya Boy departed The ATL for The NOLA on Monday, September 19, and returned Saturday, October 1, 2016.

In addition to physical challenges, CCG is further handicapped by NOT owning a laptop computer. A vast majority of CRAZY COOL GROOVY!!! originates from the desktop at home, or; from the local public library.

The afternoon of Friday, September 30, CCG's eldest sister PW called to offer to treat CCG and Dad for dinner.

This particular location of NOHSC is conveniently situated just 8 blocks across the ORLEANS PARISH-JEFFERSON PARISH Line,  in the 800 block of Veterans Memorial Blvd. at Martin Behrman Drive, in the city of METAIRIE, LA.

CCG and Dad met PW inside the spot at about 6:15 PM. We arrived to a busy establishment that was buzzing with activity, and at about two-thirds seating capacity full with the early evening dinner crowd.

NOHSC says;

TURTLE SOUP


The NOHSC MENU is a direct reflection of its management's promise to their patrons, Good Old-Fashioned NEW ORLEANS COMFORT FOOD.

CCG decided to go with the TURTLE SOUP (photo above) for an appetizer, and; the CRABMEAT EGGPLANT STACK (photo below) for an entree.

Ya Boy has eaten TurtlE Soup at only ONE other restaurant - the world-famous MANDINA'S RESTAURANT that is located on CANAL STREET in Downtown NEW ORLEANS.

It was a deep-brown, very well-seasoned, thick and creamy roux, and; was accented with traditional New Orleans Cajun-Creole seasonings of onion, garlic, black pepper, bell pepper, green onion, red pepper, etc., and chock-full of tender bits of Turtle and small-size Shrimp.

SPLENDIFEROUSLY TASTY!!!

On to the entree...


CRABMEAT And EGGPLANT STACK, ft. FRIED GREEN TOMATO, and CRAWFISH REMOULADE SAUCE


The CRABMEAT And EGGPLANT STACK is just what the title suggests, and; just what the photo shows... it is a STACK of a dish.

It is a stack of two well-seasoned, tender-juicy slices of FRIED GREEN TOMATO that encapsulate two nice slices of FRIED EGGPLANT, and a thick patty of FRIED CRABMEAT that had a golden brown crust on the outside and was full of steamy-tender crabmeat on the inside. It would ordinarily be slathered in their own homemade CRAWFISH REMOULADE SAUCE. CCG ordered the sauce on the side.

Minus the sauce, it almost looks like you could handle it as if you were about to chow down on a delicious fried Crabmeat, Eggplant, & Fried Green Tomato Sandwich.

When you enter the building, you place your order at the Service Counter, seat yourself, and your meal is delivered to your table by your server. You have the option of ordering a single beverage from the Service Counter, or; you may order from the Beverage Buffett.

There is a digital video screen behind and above the Service Counter that displays some of their featured dishes.

Seeing it on the menu and then on the video screen is why CCG decided to order the Remoulade Sauce on the side (photo above).

Sis had the THIN-FRIED CATFISH & SHRIMP PLATTER, while Dad had the CHICKEN CAESAR SALAD.

BOTH Sis and Dad were very satisfied with their meals, AND; they both had so much food, that they BOTH needed To-Go Plates.

GOOD FOOD, GOOD CONVERSATION, GOOD LOCATION, GOOD SERVICE, GOOD TIMES!!!
