I LOVE 2 EAT #124: THE MUNCH FACTORY!!!




Saturday, August 6, was the last for Yours Truly CCG to spend at home in his beloved CRESCENT CITY!!!

It was also an opportunity to get together for a light evening dinner with his BFF of nearly 25 years, Mrs. LMMA (photo bottom).

She is a very busy lady, so The MUNCH FACTORY  was actually her suggestion, as it is close to my father's home, and afterwards; she was off to another social affair.

The MUNCH FACTORY is founded/owned/operated by Mr. and Mrs. JORDAN and ALEXIS RUIZ, and they are conveniently located in the spot that was formerly occupied by the famous mouth-watering burger spot, BUD'S BROILER, is directly across the street from The BUTTERMILK DROP BAKERY, and only three short blocks from the UNIVERSITY Of NEW ORLEANS, on the side of Elysian Fields Avenue that will take you towards our historical LAKE PONTCHATRAIN.

The place is intimately-designed/illuminated, and; appears to provide comfortably-spaced table/booth seating for about 50 - 55 patrons.

Arriving at about 7:15 pm, LMMA and CCG found themselves inside a spot that was about two-thirds full to capacity, and buzzing with activity.

The MUNCH FACTORY describes itself as "not Fine Dining, but; FUN DINING...!!!" and The MUNCH FACTORY MENU reflects their take on CONTEMPORARY CUISINE With a TOUCH of NEW ORLEANS.

L was on her way to another function, so she was eating light and decided to go with the MUNCHIN' WINGS (6-piece).

CRAWFISH And CORN CHOWDER (photo above) was the Soup of the Day, so; for an appetizer, CCG went with a small cup of soup. For an entree, the BUFFALO OYSTER SALAD (photo below), and Sweet Tea to drink.

The Crawfish and Corn Chowder was a fresh-out-the-pot warm, thick and creamy, deep gold-colored roux filled with tender chunks of fresh crawfish and fresh corn kernels, and; accented with traditional seasonings of onion, pepper, garlic, and shallots (green onion), to give it a good old-fashioned Creole New Orleans spicy kick.

The Buffalo Oyster Salad was a crispy-cool bed of fresh mixed greens, topped with fresh tomatoes and tender-crunchy cooked bacon, and topped with large crispy-tender freshly-fried oysters. The salad is the drizzled with a mild Buffalo Sauce and Ranch Salad Dressing.

Their website sates;
"... Every dish and every sauce is made in house, daily. Each dish is made to order, and each salad tossed one at a time..."
That statement was proven to be VERY True by way of the aromas, textures, flavors, and aesthetic freshness of appearance and taste of each element of the evening's meal.

L said that she was most satisfied with her wings

CCG was also VERY satisfied with the wings as he got an order to go to bring home to Dad.
