This past Wednesday, April 13, Yours Truly CCG took Niece out for in search of dinner.
JUST LOAF'N PO-BOYS
3741 BOULEVARD AVENUE SE
ATLANTA, GA 30312
JUST LOAF'N PO-BOYS has two locations and a FOOD TRUCK, and their ATLANTA location is conveniently located on Boulevard Avenue SW, between MEMORIAL DRIVE and I-20.
One of their claims to famous that they boast having the "BEST PO-BOY OUTSIDE Of NEW ORLEANS", because of course; EVERYBODY knows that CCG's hometown of NEW ORLEANS is the HOME of the PO-BOY SANDWICH.
At the time of 6:15 PM that we arrived, the house was void of Dine-In patrons, but; the TAKE-OUT patrons never stopped flowing in and out of the restaurant. There was a steady flow of folks coming in and ordering food to take out, and, others who came in to pick up their telephone orders.
PO-BOY SANDWICHES is what they do BEST, what they do MOST, and the JUST LOAF'N PO-BOYS MENU is a true reflection of their CREOLE-CAJUN virtuosity. They also feature New Orleans BEIGNETS, BREAD PUDDING, PRALINES, and SNO BALLS on their Dessert Menu.
We decided to dine-in, and CCG chose the Fully Dressed (Lettuce, Tomato, Pickles, Mayonnaise) ALLIGATOR PO-BOY (Whole Loaf) ), 1 Side of JAMBALAYA, and drank Sweet Tea. NIECY selected the 8-Piece LEMON PEPPR WINGS with FRIES, and she also had Sweet Tea.
The ALLIGATOR PO-BOY (photo below) consists of a generous portion nugget-sized pieces of Alligator meat, dipped in their special batter, fried to a tender-crispy Golden-Brown, and layered upon a bed of crispy-cool lettuce, tomato, and pickles, that is spread across a buttered Hoagie Bun.
Po-Boys also feature their own homemade MAMBO SAUCE.
CCG takes it upon himself to add HOT SAUCE.
There generally are two fashions of Jambalaya; CREOLE RED, and CAJUN BROWN. Just Loaf'n effectively merges the two cultures to bring forth a spicy dish that is choice-full of seasonings, and accented with bites of chicken and sausage.
NIECY had Lemon Pepper Wings. She said they were "GOOD".
CCG is only the messenger.
Ya Boy did not taste a wing, BUT: did munch on a few FRIES.
The fries have a slightly-spicy seasoning that is much TASTIER than ANY fries that you will find at fast-food joints around town.
NIECY is from Atlanta, but; her mom and uncle (Sis and CCG) are from New Orleans, so, she knows all about Beignets and Sno Balls. We got an order of Beignets to go.
The BEIGNETS (photo bottom) come as an order of 5 fresh-out-the-grease fried puffy pastries sprinkled (lots of sprinkling) with powdered sugar.
GOOD FOOD, GOOD LOCATION, GOOD SERVICE, GOOD TIMES!!!
LAISSEZ Le BON TEMPS ROULER, Baby.
BTW, if you had not noticed, CCG has recently joined INSTAGRAM.
