This past Saturday morning, June 6, Yours Truly CCG was at church for the regular 9:00 AM monthly meeting of the UNITED METHODIST MEN!!!
After that of course, was the meeting-after-the-meeting, and then in the church Parking Lot, another meeting.
Whereas Ya Boy CCG would normally have been done with the business by about 11:00 AM, on this particular day, it was about 1:00 PM. Considering the time, CCG swung by Sis and Bro-in-law.
Sis was bogged down in work, and because Bro now works overnight; he was knocked out.
To give everybody a brief break, CCG took Niecy out for lunch.
PIG-N-CHICK BBQ - ATLANTA
1815 BRIARCLIFF ROAD
ATLANTA, GA 30329
PIG-N-CHICK BBQ - ATLANTA is located at the intersection of Briarcliff Road and Clifton Road, and just up Clifton Road from the sprawling campus of EMORY UNIVERSITY in the BUCKHEAD area of The ATL.
CCG and Niecy arrived at about 2:00 PM to a house that was at about 25% capacity with seated patrons. However; for the duration of our visit, their Take-Out activity was very steady. Because there were never more than two or three people in line, there was very little waiting. Yet, there ALWAYS people coming in and out, and two or three in line for Take-Out.
There are two Dining Rooms. The main Dining Room is inside, with spacious comfortable seating for about 30 - 35 persons. if you enjoy your dining Al Fresco, they have an enclosed, covered outside Dining Room that also appears to seat 30 - 35.
PIG-N-CHIK is clearly a family-oriented eatery. However, PIG-N-CHIK is closely located to a major college campus. So the interior décor is reminiscent of a college town sports bar, with banners and flags representing the numerous colleges and universities in throughout Metropolitan ATL, the SEC, and ACC. They also have a few nice-sized flat screen TVs.
The PIG-N-CHIK BBQ ATLANTA - MENU is a celebration of ALL thing Barbeque, serving sumptuous portions of beef, chicken, pork, and turkey.
Be advised; other than their fried chicken wings and ribs, their meat is served OFF-The-BONE.
CCG had the Small PORK RIBS PLATE (photo above), which is 3 Bones, 2 Sides, and Bread. CCG had Collard Greens and Cole Slaw.
Niecy had the 10-Piece LEMON PEPPER WINGS (photo below), which comes with your choice of Carrots or Celery, and your choice Ranch or Bleu Cheese Dressing.
Ribs were evenly-seasoned and well-cooked to that sweet spot of Falling-Off-The-Bone TENDER, and are served WITHOUT sauce.
At each table, there are 2-3 bottles of different sauces, and the fountain drink counter area also has a generous supply of sauces and condiments to satisfy your gastronomic pleasures.
The Collard Greens are lightly seasoned, well-cooked to that delicate line of Tender-Crunchy, and have tender bits of chicken added for an extra kick of flavor. The Cole Slaw is cool, crunchy, and easy-sweet.
Niecy let me sample on of her wings. It was fried just right 'til the meat was fully cooked on the inside, and the skin was tender-crispy without being hard-crunchy on the outside. The lemon pepper seasoning was nice and light to where there was the tantalizing taste of Lemon Pepper without the onslaught of LEMON PEPPER.
Behind the PLACE YOUR ORDER counter, they have a beverage cooler from which you may select soda or beer. We chose Fountain Drinks (Sweet Tea/Lemonade)
GOOD FOOD, GOOD COMPANY, GOOD LOCATION, GOOD SERVICE, GOOD TIMES!!!
