CRAZY COOL GROOVY CONGRATULATIONS goes out to eighth-graders VANYA SHIVASHANKAR, 13, of OLATHE, KS, and GOKUL VENKATACHALAM, 14, of CHESTERFIELD, MO, for on Thursday, May 28, being declared CO-CHAMPIONS of the 2015 SCRIPPS NATIONAL SPELLING BEE!!!
ESPN reports the bee hadn't ended in a tie for 52 years -- until last year. Now it has happened for an unprecedented two years running.
VANYA was competing in the bee for the fifth and final time.
Her sister, KAVYA -- now a sophomore at Columbia University -- competed four times, which means the Shivashankar family has made the trip nine of the past 10 years.
KAVYA SHIVASHANKAR said;
"I'm so, so proud and in awe of my sister."
VANYA, who also acts and plays the tuba and piano, dedicated her victory to her late grandmother, who died in 2013.
VANYA SHIVASHANKAR said;
"Everything takes hard work and passion. That's definitely what I put in, and I know Gokul put that into this endeavor as well."
She aspires to be a cardiac surgeon. In the meantime, she hopes to devote more time to acting and persuade her family to take a Caribbean cruise this summer.
He had a gruff onstage demeanor, confirming a word's roots and definition before chugging through the letters as if he had dinner plans.
Under his blue-and-white button-down shirt, Venkatachalam wore the jersey of his idol, LeBron James.
GOKUL VENKATACHALAM said;
"I wasn't nervous."GOKUL hopes to attend Stanford and become an entrepreneur or stockbroker.
Proving their superiority over even their toughest competitors, VANYA and GOKUL went head-to-head for 10 rounds before the list of 25 championship words was exhausted.
The words included bouquetière, caudillismo, thamakau, scytale, Bruxellois and pyrrhuloxia. Shivashankar appeared to struggle only with the Fijian-derived thamakau, which is a type of outrigger canoe.
Before the bee began, SCRIPPS NATIONAL SPELLING BEE Executive Director PAIGE KIMBLE predicted it would be another 50 years before it ended in a tie. Now she's thinking differently.
PAIGE KIMBLE said;
"I think it's time to consider that the bee may be entering a new era where the level of competition is so intense that we need to entertain this as a possibility every year."
The past 10 winners of the bee, and 14 of the past 18, have been of Indian descent, a run of dominance that began in 1999 with Nupur Lala's victory, which was later featured in the documentary, SPELLBOUND.
VANYA and GOKUL each will receive more than $37,000 in cash and prizes, and while they held up the trophy together as they were being showered with confetti, each will get one to take home.

Due to a booming population in CHINA, in 1980, the ruling Communist Party enacted a law that STILL allows only one child per family!!!
For a generation now, the number of boys being born in China has greatly outstripped the number of girls. This gender imbalance reached a peak of 1.22 to 1 in 2008, and is now about 1.16 to 1. By 2020, the National State Population and Family Planning Commission projects that males of marrying age will outnumber females by at least 30 million.
Historically, China has been a patriarchal culture in which the subjugation of women is symbolized most cruelly by the phenomenon of bound feet, a practice that didn’t disappear entirely until the early 20th century. And it remains a male-dominated society today, never mind that ever since the ruling Communist Party came to power in 1949 it has trumpeted a phrase attributed to Mao Zedong.
Chairman MAO TSE-TUNG said;
“Women hold up half the sky.”
Indeed, the demographic imbalance between men and women speaks to just how male-dominated it remains. The combination of China’s one child policy and the advent of sonograms has meant that families who preferred a son could get what they wanted, aborting unwanted girls.
The gender imbalance is a function of what Lauren Johnston, a Ph.D. student at Peking University writing a book on the subject, calls “the familial race to have an heir,” greatly intensified by the one-child policy, which has been in effect since 1980.
With that backdrop, the recent progress of women within China is significant. Ever since 1995, when it hosted a high-profile United Nations conference on women’s rights (attended by then First lady HILLARY CLINTON) the government in Beijing has paid increasing attention to—and made some progress on—core feminist issues: access to jobs and higher education; stricter laws (and enforcement thereof) against domestic violence and sexual harassment; and more equitable divorce laws.
NEWSWEEK Journalist BILL POWELL balances the scales on the GENDER IMBALANCE: HOW CHINA'S ONE-CHILD LAW BACKFIRED On MEN By EMPOWERING WOMEN.
PLAYBOY Journalist ALEX SARGEANT has endured the countless hours of painstaking research to present This MAP SHOWS The HOURLY WAGE YOU NEED To EARN To AFFORD A 2-BEDROOM RENTAL In EVERY STATE In The UNITED STATES Of AMERICA!!!
Then U.S. GOVERNMENT calculates poverty, inflation, and benefits on the inaccurate assumption that renters spend approximately 30 percent of their income on housing.
If you rent in the UNITED STATES, that figure is probably much higher than 30 percent.
This map shows how much a full-time hourly employee would need to make to maintain a 2-bedroom rental unit in every state of the UNITED STATES.
HAWAII tops out at $31.61, with our nation's capitol, WASHINGTON, D. C., coming in second at $28.04.
Where do you live, how much do you earn per hour, and, how large of a percentage of your monthly income do you spend on simply paying your rent???

Thursday, May 14, after a long battle with Diabetes, legendary BLUES Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist/Entrepreneur/Philanthropist B. B. KING passed away at his home in LAS VEAGS, NV, at the age of 89.
B. B. KING was born RILEY B. KING to sharecropper parents, Mrs. and Mrs. ALBERT and NORA KING, on the BERCLAIR COTTON PLANTATION near the town of ITTA BENA, MS; but, considered nearby INDIANOLA, MS, to be his home.
VARIETY report President BARACK OBAMA said:
“The blues has lost its king, and America has lost a legend. B.B. King was born a sharecropper’s son in Mississippi, came of age in Memphis, Tennessee, and became the ambassador who brought his all-American music to his country and the world. No one worked harder than B.B. No one inspired more up-and-coming artists. No one did more to spread the gospel of the blues.”From the late ’40s to the late ’60s, King developed his style before exclusively black audiences on the Southern “chitlin circuit” and initially won stardom with a series of authoritative R&B hits backed by brawny big bands on the Modern and ABC labels.
He lifted blues guitar playing to a new level of virtuosity on those recordings. Masterfully synthesizing divergent streams of blues and jazz on his instrument — the Gibson ES-355 he lovingly dubbed “Lucille” — he fused the approaches of such sophisticated precursors as Charlie Christian, Django Reinhardt, Lonnie Johnson and T-Bone Walker into a fluid, hotwired attack all his own.
His forceful yet elegant single-string picking and roaring, emotion-packed singing won him devotees like the white blues-rock guitarists Michael Bloomfield, Steve Miller and Eric Clapton, who helped introduce him to a youthful new audience in the late ’60s. By the end of the decade, he had released a top-20 pop hit, “The Thrill Is Gone,” and was on the way to becoming an icon whose renown transcended his art’s humble origins in the Deep South.
Like many bluesmen, he got his start singing gospel, but as a teen he was drawn to the accomplished Lonnie Johnson, among the most fluent of pre-war blues guitarists. He also became more deeply involved in the music through his cousin Bukka White, an ex-convict and brilliant blues singer who had recorded for Victor and Vocalion.
He stepped into the rock spotlight in 1967 after pleas from acolytes Bloomfield and Miller led San Francisco promoter Bill Graham to book him on a bill at his Fillmore ballroom with Miller’s popular band and another top Bay Area attraction, Moby Grape. He followed up that wildly received date with more shows in the rock halls of the era, and he also became a regular in Las Vegas’ lucrative showrooms. By 1969, he was opening the Rolling Stones’ arena gigs.
The ’70s were fertile for King, as he reached the charts with several popular and imaginatively produced albums that found favor with both his new and old fans: “Indianola Mississippi Seeds” (No. 26, 1970), a pairing with Leon Russell; “Live at Cook County Jail” (No. 25, 1971), cut at the Chicago penal institution; the obligatory British all-star session “B.B. King in London” (No. 57, 1971); and collaborations with R&B/blues peer Bobby “Blue” Bland and jazz trio the Crusaders.
King’s career cooled off in the early ’80s, but he was acknowledged in 1987 with a lifetime achievement award from the Recording Academy and, in just its second year in existence, induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 1988, he extended his reach yet again with a guest shot in superstar Irish band U2’s doc “Rattle and Hum” and a show-stopping performance of “When Love Comes to Town” on its soundtrack album.
In 1991, King inaugurated a branded chain of blues clubs around the country with the opening of a venue on Memphis’ Beale Street. He was the marquee name on the all-star sessions “Blues Summit” (1993) and “Deuces Wild” (1997). (The similarly styled “80” followed in 2005).
At the turn of the millennium, at age 75, he enjoyed his commercial high-water mark with “Riding With the King,” a co-billed project with star pupil Eric Clapton. It peaked at No. 3 in 2000, sold more than 2 million copies and won an inevitable Grammy as best traditional blues album.
He received Sweden’s prestigious Polar Prize for music in 2004. An autumnal high-water mark came four years later: “One Kind Favor,” a reflective contemplation of the past and imminent mortality, produced by T Bone Burnett, featuring covers of such lifelong inspirations as T-Bone Walker, Lonnie Johnson and Blind Lemon Jefferson. It collected a valedictory Grammy for traditional blues album.
King, who was diagnosed with diabetes in 1990, played concert dates in 90 countries and routinely continued to perform 100-150 shows a year until late in his career.
We offer PRAYERS, LOVE, BLESSINGS, And HUGS to ALL of the surviving family of B. B. KING.

Thursday, May 28, after a long battle with cancer, legendary SOUL/R&B/BLUES Singer/Songwriter/Musician MEL WAITERS passed away at the age of 58.
MEL WAITERS was born and raised in SAN ANTONIO, TX, where beginning in the 1970s, he honed his powerful voice in both the church choir and in nightclubs.
He worked as a radio DJ and as an entertainer on military bases, drumming in cover bands at teen clubs under government contract.
NOLA reports his debut album, I'm SERIOUS, which included the regional hit, HIT IT And QUIT IT, was released in 1995 on the Baton Rouge record label, SERIOUS SOUND.
It established his modern soul blues sound, singing about romance and revelry – often with a saucy sense of humor – over synthesizers, bass and sultry horns.
In a 2013 interview, MEL WAITERS credited the New Orleans music impresario and former Huey "Piano" Smith and the Clowns vocalist BOBBY MARCHAN with bringing the single to radio and helping to launch his solo career.
Soon after, he signed to the Waldoxy imprint of the Jackson, Miss.-based Malaco Records, joining Southern soul blues artists such as DENISE LaSALLE, MARCIN SEASE, and WILLIE CLAYTON.
He performed often on blues cruises, on package tours and at festivals, including the BIG EASY BLUES FEST and the CRESCENT CITY BLUES And BBQ FESTIVAL
His most recent album was TRUE LOVE, on his own record label, BRITTNEY RECORDS.
He is survived by his wife, PORTIA, and a daughter, BRITTNEY, for whom Brittney Records is named.
We offer PRAYERS, LOVE, BLESSINGS, And HUGS to ALL of the surviving family of MEL WAITERS.

ABC sitcom BLACK*ish star TRACEE ELLIS ROSS and CW sitcom JANE The VIRGIN star GINA RODRIGUEZ cover the new issue of THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER!!!
TRACEE and GINA are joined by AMY SCHUMER (INSIDE AMY SCHUMER on HBO), ELLIE KEMPER (UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT on NETFLIX), KATE McKINNON (SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE on NBC), and LENA DUNHAM (GIRLS on HBO) for THR: HOLLYWOOD A-LIST TV COMEDY ACTRESS ROUNDTABLE.
Here are some interview highlights:
What was your most mortifying moment performing comedy?
KATE MCKINNON I did stand-up at the Aspen Comedy Festival once, a tight two and a half minutes. I asked the booker afterward, "What did you think?" She said, "There wasn't enough for me to judge, but what I saw, I didn't like." I went to a Starbucks and cried.
LENA DUNHAM But look at you now!
AMY SCHUMER I was opening for [comedian] Dave Attell at an Improv in Washington, D.C., and was walking past the White House. This woman came up to me; she had kind eyes. I'm like, "She's a fan!" I was like, "I'm a comedian," and she goes, "These people are on a hunger strike; would you perform for them?" I then noticed there were 40 people there with signs showing how long it'd been since they'd eaten. I called some friends, and I was like, "I shouldn't do this, right? [Comedian] Jim Norton was like, "You gotta take the gig." (Laughs.) So I tried to write hunger-strike jokes. These people looked like everyone in The Exodus.
TRACEE ELLIS ROSS You have such a good soul.
SCHUMER So I performed, and no one laughed.
GINA RODRIGUEZ They were hungry!
SCHUMER I made jokes like, "Hey, at least no waitresses will be distracting you here!" But I bombed. They put a video of it online, and I found out later they were a known terrorist organization. Making people laugh is what I can do to give back.
Is there something that you would never do for a laugh?
SCHUMER I would never suck a dick for a laugh.
DUNHAM I would never f— someone.
RODRIGUEZ I'm a brown girl, so I have to cross all the lines. I did just recently give birth onscreen [in Jane the Virgin].
MCKINNON Me, too!
RODRIGUEZ The actress playing my OB-GYN, Julie, was in right between my legs. I have Spanx on, this big [fake] belly, legs spread wide open. I probably should've showered that morning.
DUNHAM I stopped wearing the nude patch after the first season of Girls. There's not one guy who works on that show who hasn't seen the inside of my vagina.
SCHUMER They could draw your ovaries.
DUNHAM I used to wear the patch but …
ROSS What's the patch?
DUNHAM This patch — you glue it over your vagina. It gets sweaty and always falls off. My male co-stars, at the end of the day, don't care.
ROSS Are they covered up?
DUNHAM They wear a bag.
ROSS A sack?
DUNHAM Like a penis bag.
ELLIE KEMPER I've never done a sex scene. I am so prudish that when I've had to kiss someone in a scene, I think for the next hour that we're in love! It's a middle-school frame of mind.
DUNHAM I never understand when people say, "Sex scenes are so mechanical; it doesn't feel like anything." It feels like someone f—ing you! It's confusing.
ROSS On network shows, there are a lot of instructions: "Close the mouth. You can move, make the sounds, but no tongue." I had some incidences on Girlfriends. This guy's tongue jammed in like a lizard out of nowhere.
SCHUMER When I was filming [Trainwreck] last summer, I had a bunch of sex scenes. Full penetration. We went for it. (Laughter.) This guy we were going to have make out with me was like, "Um, do you want our first kiss to be on camera?" I was like, "No, no, come to my trailer and we'll make out beforehand." It was so grotesque. I'm like, "Did you think I cast you because I want to make out with you?" Then there was a lot of unnecessary touching. I was like "Get that guy out of there."
Tracee, Chris Rock wrote an essay for The Hollywood Reporter in which he talked about how you can go to the movies once a week for months and never see a black woman in a substantial role.
RODRIGUEZ I think that also goes for Latinos as well.
DUNHAM [To Rodriguez] That's why I sobbed during your Golden Globes speech!
MCKINNON That was the best.
ROSS There aren't many [roles in film]. That's why I say no to all the offers! (Laughs.) Working on a film is one job where you look at a casting breakdown and I'll think, "That's me!" But she's not supposed to be black.
RODRIGUEZ One hundred percent.
ROSS But I go for them anyway. Gina, what's been your experience?
RODRIGUEZ I remove myself instantly if something's perpetuating a stereotype. But the only way to stop stereotypes is to say, "I'm going to wait for a journey that suits me."
DUNHAM I got into Jane the Virgin after reading your early interviews. You were obviously grateful, but rather than going, "I'm so lucky to have this part!" you took back the power and said, "I waited for something that spoke to me as a Latina and didn't feel like I was compromising."
RODRIGUEZ When you compromise, you don't do your best work.
ROSS I can't sleep at night.
RODRIGUEZ You're only left with your integrity. You can't take those Jimmy Choos with you!
SCHUMER [To Ross and Rodriguez] I never thought how bad it could be for you guys until I had a TV show and we had to do auditions. Many black women who auditioned thought that we wanted them to be "sassy."
RODRIGUEZ "Get me someone more urban!"
SCHUMER We're like, "No, just be yourself." I thought: That sucks. It meant they'd been in a lot of rooms where they were like, "Uh, can you be more like (snaps her finger)."
ROSS Hey, I don't sound like that.
SCHUMER I visited the Girls and 30 Rock sets before my show. Seeing how Lena and Tina [Fey] ruled … it was unapologetic and strong. Every crewmember would die for these women

COLOMBIA-born ABC sitcom MODERN FAMILY star SOFIA VERGARA covers the SMOKIN' HOT SUMMER 2015 issue of COSMO For LATINAS!!!
Here are some interview highlights:
On whether she still believes in soul mates:
"Yeah. I believe that you can find a person who is very similar to you and that a relationship doesn't have to be a struggle. If things are easy, I think that's when you've found a soul mate."
On what she's most proud of in her life:
"My son [22-year-old Manolo]. I think it's so hard to raise kids nowadays, and he has grown up to be so respectful and responsible."
"Sometimes you want fame to go away a little bit, because you want to do normal things … I think I'm old enough that I've already enjoyed all of it, so if it goes away, I think I'm still going to be OK. It was never really what I was looking for — it wasn't even being an actress or being famous — it was just supporting myself and
"There aren't as many roles for Latinas as we would want there to be, but we shouldn't be complaining because a Latin girl just won a Golden Globe, a Latin director just won an Oscar. We should be very happy that there are people out there who are doing things and being recognized."
CRAZY COOL GROOVY CONGRATULATIONS goes out to head Coach STEVE KERR and the GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS for their 104 - 90 victory over the HOUSTON ROCKETS earlier tonight in Game #5 of the 2015 NBA WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS to defeat the Rockets 4 games to 1, and win the 2015 NBA WESTERN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

The 2015 NBA FINALS begin Tuesday, June 2.
Many people most associate Actress/Singer/Musician ZOE KRAVITZ with her very famous parents, Rock God LENNY KRAVITZ and Film/TV Actress LISA BONET!!!
However, ZOE KRAVITZ is carving out her very own place under the sun, and she is beaming.
In 2015, she will appear in the second installment of the DIVERGENT trilogy (she wears black and beats people up), in the completely insane MAD MAX revival (wears white; same), and as the unattainable love interest in the Sundance hit DOPE.
All of that is in addition to touring the country with her band, LOLAWOLF, and stopping by SXSW (SOUTH By SOUTHWEST MUSIC FESTIVAL).
GQ Journalist MARK BYRNE and Photographer STEVEN PAN provide the words and images to prove that ZOE KRAVITZ Is THE BEST KRAVITZ, and the young lady herself demonstrates with a video on HOW To DATE ZOE KRAVITZ.

Singer/Songwriter/Musician/Producer/Actor/Businessman ALOE BLACC was born EGBERT NATHANIEL DAWKINS III in ORANGE COUNTY, CA, to parents from PANAMA, is married to MEXICAN-AUSTRALIAN Rapper/Songwriter MAYA JUPITER, and managed to find time for PLAYBOY Journalist ADAM POPESCU to complete a PLAYBOY INTERVIEW: ALOE BLACC!!!
Here are some interview highlights:
How different of an artist are you now versus the Emanon days?
I got signed by an indie label as a singer rather than a rapper. I had the opportunity to explore different kinds of song writing. And I started studying a lot of different types of songwriting. The content is the same. I think as an MC I was doing a lot of socially conscious and introspective work. As a singer it’s still socially conscious. I’ve sort of found a voice as a champion of the underdog, singing songs of triumph over adversity.
What about the difference between life on an indie versus major label?
Indie you don’t have the access to radio and television and press the way major labels do. But you have street cred and artistic freedoms that you might not have at a major. I still have a lot of artistic freedom. I was lucky that I developed my profile as an indie artist and then a major bought into that mystique, and I get to continue that.
Did working with Avicii push you over the top, to make you a recognizable face?
I wouldn’t say that I’m a very recognizable face. I wouldn’t want that for myself, actually. Part of the reason why I’m at PTTOW! is to engage in other business ventures that can definitely be an exit strategy from the music game as an artist. I’m going to continue to make music, but I don’t necessarily care to be famous. I want to continue to make great songs that will stand the test of time without playing the industry game of chasing the popularity and celebrity. I’d rather develop a killer app, be home to raise my child instead of on the road.
What does your name mean?
When I was in high school I was a hip-hop artist. I wanted to describe myself as being smooth like lotion so I chose aloe. Something really simple and juvenile. Stuck with me into my singing career.
Is it more challenging for an artist to break through than it used to be, or is it easier with Soundcloud and YouTube to develop an audience?
I think it’s easier for artists to break through and find his or her own audience using social media and other platforms that are online. And as long as they create content that is accessible but also attractive to whatever particular audience they believe they’re delivering to, they’ll have a fanbase that can sustain their livelihood.
Success is measured in many different ways. For me, I measure success as writing a great song. And that’s ultimately why I want to get into other forms of income-earning activity, because writing a great song doesn’t necessarily translate into getting on the radio and making money. Especially in this climate where digital sales are dwindling due to streaming, and the streaming economy doesn’t pay the same as the old physical economy or digital download. I’m going to jump ship. Exit the artist world in a way that doesn’t require playing the game of writing a song that can be massively popular. I just want to write songs that my heroes would look at and say that’s great. That my peers would choose me to be part of something like the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame. And you don’t get that by writing hits, you get that by writing great songs. I’d be remiss to try to chase Number Ones. Because that could be my demise.
What’s your biggest challenge as an artist?
Time, I think. Finding the time to balance between family and creativity. Usually there’s a cycle to an album, but the music industry’s so in flux that the cycles are changing. Generally you release an album, you tour on that album. The cycle can be two years plus. It’s much faster now. People are able to consume quicker. And they want to be able to consume on-demand. Part of me thinks, and I’ve suggested to the record label, “I have 40 songs, why don’t I just release all of them? Let people binge if that’s how they consume these days. People are binging on television, why not let someone go deep with my catalogue?” Record labels are notoriously antiquated. They don’t embrace the change in technology as fast as the technology is changing their industry. And they don’t embrace crafty ideas to get ahead of the curve, either. What it requires ultimately is a road artist. I think if I was in a position that I didn’t establish who I was, and have a nest egg, then I would be fearful and have to operate by their means. But I can see a different path and I think it requires some initiative.
Baltimore, Ferguson, all this craziness — a lot of artists are quiet about it. What’s your take?
My take is don’t scream unless you have something to say. If we’re going to organize and march we have to have a reason for it. What are we organizing and marching for? Selma came out at a perfect time for us to recognize that if you’re going to march you have to have a directive. What is the goal? The goal can be manifold. I believe it is a call to jobs. Father Greg Boyle in Boyle Heights says nothing stops a bullet like a job. That’s the truest thing. I want to create jobs. How do you create jobs? One way is create the farms in peoples’ front yards and backyards. It gives people purpose and something to do. How else? Well, there’s an underserved population that hasn’t learned about computers and technology. So I’ve been supporting hackathons and I’m going to get involved with the folks bringing hackathons to the high schools in the inner city.
Why ship the jobs off to India? We can do them right here. I’ll figure out how to use either celebrity influence, or money or whatever else, to get people involved in this new space. It absolutely builds confidence, it keeps them off the streets. If they can create something, there’s nothing better than the feeling of creating something others are using. It’s addictive and it’s going to make you want to do it again and again. It becomes the new Jordans. Instead of going out and showing off a new pair of Jordans, you’re showing off that you built this new app everyone is using. And that’s going to change who’s the big man on campus.
CRAZY COOL GROOVY CONGRATULATIONS goes out to Head Coach DAVID BLATT and the CLEVELAND CAVALIERS for defeating the ATLANTA HAWKS 118 - 88 last night in Game #4 of the 2015 NBA EASTERN CONFERENCE FINALS on their home court at QUICKENS LOANS ARENA in Cleveland to sweep the HAWKS 4 - 0 to win the 2015 NBA EASTERN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

The name ‘Lamborghini‘ is synonymous with speed, yet nothing in this world is sacred. We live in a world where traditions die out like the California Condor, and thus Lamborghini is officially rolling out an SUV because wealthy oil barons in the middle east need a place to put the carseat that holds their wealthy infant oil barons.
That’s right - a Lamborghini SUV is confirmed for production in 2018, and it will ship to the United States, China, UK, Middle East, and select parts of Europe.
"Automobili Lamborghini SpA will build a new high-performance sport utility vehicle in Italy that may double the size of the supercar brand, after reaching a deal on tax breaks with Prime Minister Matteo Renzi’s government, said people familiar with the matter.
Lamborghini met several times in the last few months with representatives of the Italian government before making a final decision on the production of the SUV, people familiar with the matter said earlier this month. To cut costs, the chassis and other key components are set to be produced at Volkswagen AG factories, such as a plant in Bratislava, Slovakia, where the frame for the Porsche Cayenne SUV is made, the people said."BUSINESS INSIDER says;
“In exchange for Lamborghini’s plan to hire as many as 500 people, [Prime Minister Matteo] Renzi’s government will grant as much as 80 million euros ($87 million) in tax breaks and other benefits to expand production in Italy, they wrote, citing unnamed sourced with knowledge of the deal.
“[Parent company] Audi is seeking to broaden Lamborghini’s lineup beyond two-seat supercars, which have limited appeal in emerging markets such as China, where road conditions can be poor.”
