However; her celebration was short-lived, as on Wednesday, April 15, five of the city's six Police Officers (80% of Police Force), the City Attorney, City Clerk, and Waste Water Plant Supervisor resigned from their respective offices.
The resignations were immediately effective, citing "Safety Concerns."
KFVS 12 St. LOUIS reports Mayor TYRUS BYRD said she was unaware of the situation and asked questions about the "safety concerns" during Tuesday night's ceremony.
Former Mayor RANDALL RAMSEY served the city of Parma for 37 years during two different terms.
He lost the election by 37 votes.
Mayor BYRD served as city clerk in the past. She was born and raised in Parma and also does missionary work.
She said her first order of business will be to help clean up the city
