I LOVE 2 EAT #83: CLEVELAND AVE CAFE & GRILL!!!

GOOD MONDAY!!!

Saturday afternoon, after a fresh cut by MARSHALL at PRO CUTS ATL, Yours Truly CCG was in need of a meal.

CCG fresh out of Big Marshall's chair at PRO CUTS ATL

Coming from the intersection of Metropolitan and Cleveland Avenue, they are located to your right side on Cleveland Avenue in the same block as the GREATER EPHESUS MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, and smack dab between the CLEVELAND AVENUE BARBER SHOP and LTF TIRES.

The CLEVELAND AVE CAFE & GRILL is one of those family-owned-hole-in-the-wall type eateries.

Which means; if you are not exactly familiar with the location, and are not closely paying attention as you are driving - you will easily pass it by and never find the spot.

Which also means; they ARE located in the hood, but; the Food is GOOD.

The place is primarily designed for Take-Out. However; as you can see in the top photo, there are two tables with chairs for Al Fresco dining, while inside; there is a counter with four barstools for your Dine-In experience.

CCG chose to Dine In..

Walking in the door, Ya Boy CCG was hit by the menu posted directly over the window to the open kitchen (photo above) and the Daily Specials (photo below) posted on the wall to the right (below photo).

There is also a more extensive graphic Take-Home Menu (2nd below photo), that is available at the sales register.

CCG opted for the 3-Piece FISH (Catfish, Tilapia, or Whiting | Fried, Grilled, or Seared) and WINGS COMBO (bottom photo) - 3 pieces of Fried Whiting, 6 Wings (Mild), Fries, and 1 slice of Lightly-Buttered Toast. CCG added an order of Cole Slaw and drank Peach Punch.

The Whiting was lightly-seasoned and well-fried to a crispy golden-brown exterior with a steaming tender-flaky meaty interior, and the Wings were pleasingly prepared with about the same level of expertise. While the wings were very tasty, the sauce was a tad bit hot for CCG.

The Fries were cooked to golden-brown-French-Fry-crispy perfection, while the Cole Slaw was crisp and cool with just the right touch of Cole Slaw Dressing.

One slight drawback; the fish portions were smaller than expected.

GOOD FOOD, GOOD SERVICE, GOOD LOCATION, GOOD TIMES!!!
