GOOD FRIDAY NIGHT!!!
The morning of MARTIN LUTHER KING, Jr. SUNDAY, January 19; Sis text me to come over after church, and we would all go out for dinner.
2039 CRESCENT CENTRE BLVD.
TUCKER, GA 30084-5335
Our merry band of four (Sis, Bro-n-law, Niecy, CCG) arrived at about 2:45 PM ET. Because it was a holiday weekend, and because there are ALWAYS multiple events occurring during the weekends in Metro ATL; we waited about 20 minutes before being seated.
The joint was jumpin', and our Server explained that the Kitchen Staff was short. Our Server was a 20-something young Sista who was very courteous, friendly, knowledgeable of the establishment and menu, and accommodating to our table.
The consumption began with a complimentary basket of warm Dinner Rolls and butter.
Sis ordered an appetizer for sharing, the TOP SHELF APPETIZER COMBO (photo below), consisting of Spicy Jack Cheese Wedges, Chicken Tenders, and Loaded Potato Skins.
FRIED POTATOES, FRIED CHICKEN, and FRIED CHEESE, with Dipping Sauce... OH YEAH!!!
CCG and Niecy drank Sweet Tea, Sis had Water, and Bro-n-law had Draught Beer.
For an entrée, CCG ordered the FISH & SHRIMP COMBO (photo below) - hand-battered light and crispy ALASKAN COD, paired with POPCORN SHRIMP tossed with Parmesan Cheese and Garlic, layered over a bed of steaming-hot Seasoned Fries, accented with a lemon wedge, and accompanied by cocktail and tartar sauces.
O'CHARLEY'S serves generous portions. So after 2 Dinner Rolls, 1 Cheese Wedge, 1 Chicken Tender, 1 Loaded Potato Skin, and 1 Sweet Tea; the Fish Fillets, OR, the Popcorn Shrimp would have been a quite sufficient meal.
CCG ain't goin' out like dat. Ya Boy took it down.
The fillets were lightly-seasoned and lightly-fried to golden brown crispy perfection, to where you could cut with your fork. The shrimp were crunchy-shrimp goodness, with the parmesan and garlic as excellent complements. The fries are fresh-out-of-the-grease hot, and spicy-seasoned, but not spicy-hot seasoned.
FRIED FISH, FRIED SHRIMP, FRIED POTATOES... YES!!!
O'CHARLEY'S is also known for their desserts. Bro-n-law and Sis each ordered a slice of the SOUTHERN PECAN PIE, which is made with Maple and Brown Sugar, topped with a generous layer of Pecan Halves, and sided with a dollop of Whipped Cream.
GOOD FOOD, GOOD COMPANY, GOOD CONVERSATION, GOOD SERVICE, GOOD TIMES!!!
