PEACE And GREETINGS;
Yours Truly, CCG offers sincerest apologies for being so tardy with the posts in the I LOVE 2 EAT Series, and promises; that he is almost up-to-date.
The third Sunday in September, Ya Boy CCG had a little extra pocket change. So; after church, he stepped out for Sunday Dinner.
CHANTERELLE'S: RESTAURANT & CATERING
ATLANTA, GA 30310
Conveniently located at 646 Evans Street, 1/2 block off of Ralph David Abernathy Blvd.; the WEST END ATLANTA establishment known as CHANTERELLE'S is owned and operated by Chef AL BRIDGES.
CHANTERELLE'S bills itself as featuring COUNTRY FRENCH, and GOURMET SOUL Cuisine, with German and Cajun influences.
Food Service is cafeteria-style, and the Dining Room has table seating for about 80 persons. The Dining Room staff were courteous, attentive, and very welcoming.
Arriving at about 1:00 PM ET, the place was moderately busy with several patrons standing on line to place orders, and several tables occupied with diners enjoying their meals.
CHANTERELLE'S follows the 1 Meat + 2 Sides formula, so for an entrée, CCG had the SHRIMP ETOUFFEE (photo below).
Having such a delicacy as SHRIMP ETOUFFEE over rice is really the only way to roll, and the rice counted as one side. CHANTERELLE'S features Yellow Rice, which gave it a different flavoring.
Collard Greens was the second side along with a complimentary Cornbread Muffin. Sweet Tea was the beverage of choice for that particular Sunday afternoon.
The SHRIMP ETOUFFEE .featured reasonably-sized tender shrimp, was highlighted with visible cut seasonings of onion, celery, green bell pepper, green onion, and got a light kick from the ground black pepper. Since the rice was one side, the Shrimp Etouffee was ladled over a fluffy bed of warm Yellow Rice.
The COLLARD GREENS were evenly-seasoned to retain their natural sweetness, and cooked to a fork-tenderness that maintained a light crunchiness.
GOOD FOOD. GOOD LOCATION, GOOD SERVICE, GOOD TIMES!!!
PEACE And BLESSINGS;
